Sand Noise Device

The Sand Noise Device (SND) is an augmented reality musical sand box. By moving lighted objects and changing the topography of the sand users of all ages are able to create a generative and interactive audio-visual experience. The SND has been installed at the 2014 Moogfest in Asheville, North Carolina, the Exploratorium in San Francisco, Expand NY, and the 2014 Bay Area Maker Faire where it received two editor’s choice awards. The SND was developed with three other graduates from the CSUEB Multimedia Graduate program. I was responsible for audio design, interaction design, visual design, and programming. I am currently in the process of revising and improving the SND's code. You can check out what's happening here.
